Meet Ray Harkins
I’m a senior manufacturing professional with over 30 years of experience in quality management, manufacturing engineering, and business analysis. Throughout my career, I’ve toured hundreds of manufacturing facilities and worked alongside leading industry professionals across North America and Japan. My academic background includes a Master of Science from Rochester Institute of Technology and an MBA from Youngstown State University.
Today, I focus on creating practical, accessible online courses for engineers, quality professionals, and manufacturing leaders. More than 100,000 students have taken my classes on topics such as quality engineering, statistical process control, reliability, business finance, supply chain analytics, and welding technologies. I specialize in making complex tools and methods—especially those involving statistics, risk management, and Excel-based analysis—both understandable and immediately useful.
I frequently collaborate with subject matter experts to develop rich, accurate training content, and I continue to write articles and reference materials that bridge technical depth with everyday application. I’m a senior member of the American Society for Quality and hold ASQ certifications in Quality Engineering, Quality Auditing, and Calibration. My work is grounded in real-world experience, shaped by continuous learning, and designed to help professionals grow.
